    Ab Lounge Sport or Ultra??
Is there any significant difference between the blue Ab Lounge Sport (also known as the Ab Lounge 2) and the grey Ab Lounge Ultra?? I ask because I can get the blue one for like 20 bucks on CraigsList but I’d have to shell out 150 bucks for the Ultra, so unless there is a great difference in quality and results between the two, I’d like to go with the cheaper one.

im not trying to get abs im trying to tone the mussle as i just had a baby 3 months ago and dont have a lot of time

Dont buy one unless you are a very fit and flexible person as well as motivated. I have a 6 pack and when my mum bought one of those things and i used it, it paralyzed me for about a day. She couldn’t use it and my dad couldn’t use it either. All they do is destroy your back. If you want abs it is painful and take a lot of motivation and effort, you cant just use a useless piece of machinery. The people you see on the adds using the machine that have abs (like mine would do the following ab workout which i do)

The main thing for a good set of abs is what i do:

The first important note is that you don’t want to damage your back. When i first went to the gym i would do 200 sit ups on a roman chair (which is a declined bench) and i thought i was awesome. After about a month i had a bit of a 6 pack but i could barely bend over or stand up straight. So i got a personal trainer and we now do the following.

On the edge of your bed lean back with your feet off the bed and your back on it, and raise yourself off the bed a bit and bring your knees towards you. Your abdominal muscles are used here to balance you and stop you falling off the bed.

On the ground sit on a pillow so your tail bone wont hurt, and put your toes under the edge of your bed to keep you down. And just do about 10-15 sit ups/crunches but do them really slow. Instead of doing 200 if you do them slow your back wont hurt and it will be doing the same thing. When reaching the lower part of the extension (nearly laying flat on the ground) hold the position and you will really feel your muscles work. (my whole body shakes and it is good for the abdominals as they are holding you up)

The best thing for abs however is as follows: At most gyms there will be a bar at about your height maybe a bit taller (it might be a chin up bar or handles etc), of course you can always use monkey bars in a park as well. What you want to do is grab the bar and just dangle off. Your feet should be off the ground and sort of just hold yourself up (this will also be good for your arms) now slowly raise your knees towards your chest and then slowly let them back down and repeat. You can also raise your entire legs so that they are in line with your pelvis (so you are in a sort of L shape) however this will really hurt and is probably a bit advanced. This is good for you abdominals for the following reasons: You are holding yourself up off the ground using your arms and by raising your knees your abdominals are keeping your body from swinging and they are tense. Lifting your knees then really tenses the abdominals and releasing them back so that you are dangling extends them fully.

I also recently started laying with my legs towards one side and doing sit ups. This does your (side abs) lats but you just cant lift yourself up as high.

The results are going to depend on you and your commitment to consistency…I would go for the 20 dollar one myself….but make sure you are doing other exercise as well…at least 30-45 minutes of cardio/running/brisk walking/swimming or bike riding 3-4 times a week to get the best out of your routine…also eat right and drink lots of water…Good luck!!!

Reviews of the Ab Lounge Sport or similar machines? Please no speculation.?
I am looking for reviews of the Ab Lounge Sport or anything similar. The review can be from use of one or if you can find a web site that has some (I looked and couldn’t find any). I am curious about how well they work or if they are a “scam”. Good or bad I’d like to hear your experience, please justify your opinion. Thanks!

  16. tina says:

I just purchased the ab lounge sport and slimquick diet pills.?
Does anyone know how soon I will start seeing results? I am 4’11 and 124 pounds.
Also I am on a vegetarian diet and drink only crystal light…Should I be doing anything else?

  17. travis v says:

if youre looking to get well defined ab muscles you wont get it from a machine or from doing reg crunches. Doesnt matter how many you do. All that does is build muscle, but if you have a layer of fat over the muscle youll never see those abs underneath. You have to lose the fat by eating right fewer calories and exercise.

  18. mdono926 says:

Fitness Quest is the name of the company that make the Ab Lounge. Good luck!

  19. musicman47 says:

i need instructions for the ab lounge sport exercise?
i bought an ab lounge sport exercise equipment from someone w/out the instructions and tape, i just wanted to know all the things i could exercise besides abs and how

  26. slinkies says:

try boxing or kick-boxing aerobics … you will need something that works the core of your body as a whole, including stabilizing muscles … they have other machines at the gym, but I have found these to be the most effective activities/exercises and the best for a slim and defined waist …

  27. allenmrphy says:

    Hello,
I recently bought an Ab lounge Sport and the only way i can find to fold it is to un screw one part of the suport bars (the flat things on the side) then fold it up and put the washer and the nut back on the screw to keep them from getting lost.

SOrry if I don’t describe it well, I was never great at it lol.

  28. CONFIDENT but far from ARROGANT says:

Am i suppose to feel pain n my stomach and back when working on the ab lounge sport?
Or am I doing it wrong

  29. WIDOWMAKER54 says:

  30. Book_lover says:

Any place should have an Ab Lounge. Just call the store up and ask.

  31. chris says:

Does the ab lounge ultra sport work on kids?
im 14 and i have a ab lounge ultra sport will it work for me ?????

  32. wendy_da_goodlil_witch says:

pain is your body’s way of saying something’s wrong.

  33. Knuckles says:

The AbLounger, like any piece of exercise equipment comes with a diet plan. It ‘s a coordinated attack. The machine is perhaps 20% of the weight loss, while the diet plan contributes the other 80%.

  34. chickenlip420 says:

yes, any regular exercise will work as well. having a machine may or may not improve your workout, but many find it helpful towards motivation, which is probably the biggest obstacle for alot of folks.
remember as you increase your exercise, your appetite will increase as well.
don’t starve your body, but change WHAT you eat and include alot of protiens to keep your muscles healthy, while avoiding foods high in carbohydrates that contain alot of sugars and oils, but most of all, don’t give up! you are genetically bound to you body type, but fitness level depends on YOU!

  35. *B-Sizzlee :p* says:

Yes it does (: I have one . Currently not using it . But i lost 35 pounds in 1 month ((: Get it . Oh and i used mine about 30 mins a day (:

  36. mr. t says:

the ab lounge works no better then regular ab workouts, its a scam, the way to get rid of a gut is to stop eating fatty foods and eat more fruit and also exercise

  37. andy e says:

will it exercise the ab muscles?yes, will it make those muscles bigger?yes, will it make you lose fat from the abs?no
